UPDATE 1.0.0.2 ANNOUNCEMENT.
1. IntroductionWednesday, November 17, 2004 - We are happy to announce a very significant upgrade to the ONT Program, and we strongly recommend downloading and installing this upgrade.
Over the past three or four months, we have spent a considerable amount of time working to improve the performance of the ONT Program in several areas. This latest upgrade offers the following benefits:
The most significant improvement we have made -- one which by itself makes this well worth the time to download the upgrade -- was to make the ONT Program start much, much faster.
From time to time, the Editorial Committee for the Orthodox New Testament makes minor revisions to the ONT. We had made provisions in the design of the ONT Program to allow us to automatically update your program to keep your software's text current. When we recently prepared a set of updates for your program to download, our testing indicated there were some problems with the ONT Program's routines that apply the revisions. This upgrade should fix these problems.
This upgrade is required in order to retrieve any of the updates to the ONT text/endnotes, and to access the online support.
This upgrade should also fix problems with the Borland Database Engine (BDE) experienced by some WordPerfect users.
This update is strongly recommended for those users of the ONT Program purchased Prior to Wednesday, November 17, 2004. If your CD says "Version 1.0" or "Version 1.0.0.1", then you should obtain and install this update.
This update may be downloaded off the internet without charge, or it may be purchased on CD for $8.00 US for domestic customers, $10.00 US for Canadian and International customers.
Both versions contain all of the current revisions to the Orthodox New Testament, so no further downloading is required to obtain them after the upgrade.
The CD Version contains both the Upgrade, in case you already have the ONT Program loaded on your machine; and the full version of the program so if you need to load it on a new machine, you may do so without further upgrading.

When it asks whether to save it to your hard disk, or to execute it, please tell it to Save the program to your hard disk.
If you have started the ONT Program since you last turned on your computer, Reboot your computer before proceding.
Execute the ONT1_Update1002a.exe program. It is a very simple program. If you selected all the defaults when you installed the original program, then selecting the defaults on this program should work fine.
To verify that it is installed, open the Orthodox New Testament Research Program and select "Help, About". If the update was sucessful, it should say Version 1.0.0.2. If it was not sucessful, it will most likely give you an error message when you try to open the program, and will tell you to reboot and reinstall the upgrade.
NOTE: If the Upgrade program asks you to reboot the computer, it did not install sucessfully. After you reboot, please re-run the update program prior to opening any other programs.

6. Obtaining Revisions to the ONT Text
The current revisions to the ONT Program's text are included in this update. Any new updates to the ONT Program should be automatically downloaded if you run the ONT Program for 5 - 10 minutes while you have an internet connection open, and then they should be automatically installed the next time you launch the ONT Program.
Alternatively, you can force the revisions to be downloaded and installed by launching the ONT Support Program, and selecting Updates, Get Updates.
Those users who have provided us with an email address have been sent a message informing them of this update. If you have an email address, and have not provided it to us, and would like to receive notifications of future updates, then after you install this update, please select "Help, Registration" and re-register your product, supplying us with your email address.
Because this is such a significant upgrade, we will also mail a notification to all registered users who have not provided us with a working email address.
